I just finished playing The Sims Castaway Stories - I did the story mode and it was all supercute. I particularly admired the furniture in the abandoned research base.

I extracted the desk, the chair, the easy chair, a table and a filing cabinet.

YAY. It all works just fine in my game - thinking of porting to TS3......

Well, I did it - I made the easy chair for TS3... here is a pic, but Im not 100% sure on uploading - the texture is a TAD wonky.....

   

It looks pretty nice in plain colours though.
