DirectX 9.0C error

I keep getting the DirectX 9.0C error. There was a time a few months ago when it worked but then I added another expansion pack and since then it won't load. I've tried following the main post about how to fix this but I must have messed up somewhere, and can't seem to get it to work. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance!

You don't mention whether you are using Ultimate Collection or the DVDs/CDs.
You need to download this Graphic Rules - Graphic Rules - Intel
and Install it in either -
In the Program folders:
\Program Files (x86)\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\Config\
\Program Files (x86)\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\CSConfig\
MUST BE INSTALLED IN BOTH FOLDERS
If you have a deluxe or collection expansion, you will need to install it in that one as well.
If you have Ultimate Collection:
\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\
\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\CsConfig\
MUST BE INSTALLED IN BOTH FOLDERS

Information we need
- The
-config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\ Click "full editor" below to attach a text file. - Your operating System.
- What the problem actually is - that will be a picture to show the problem (optional), and accompanying text files that turn up (optional), and a detailed description of what happened, and what you expected to happen.
