Simple Grate

so, I saw that fansee has been uploading the contents of her downloads folder (the things she made herself of course) and I thought I might jump on the bandwagon. Um yea.
So, I had a look and I found this - it is a street grate.
It is a whopping 12 polygons in size and costs a fairly non-prohibitive 1 simoleon. It is recolourable, but comes with only one recolour and only one subset. Come on - it's a GRATE. Sheesh. You can find it in the buy catalog in deco/miscellaneous.
Special features:
Í tested on a lot with taxi's and cars - no issues seen as far as blocking portals etc. Enjoy.
Now with an update from Pixelhate - a better Normal map

Special features:
- Visible from hood view
- Intersectable by objects and Sims
- Can be placed on the road in a lot with no cheats.

I'd also prefer a limited area around the grate to be affected. But those drains can't be placed on the road without using cheats, to name something... That's the great thing that your grate has!
And your grate looks better on the road.

Having the puddles drain away slowly makes more sense to me too. More realistic and gives your sims some time to go jump in them.
But yeah, totally understand the whole motivation aspect. Especially when this was an old thing pulled outta your downloads folder. I know how that goes. Even without any functionality it makes a GRATE deco piece.

@Fansee, if anything, both of us should be slapped for using such a horribly bad pun.
I really like the idea of puddles draining away slowly, too - like Fansee said, it makes more sense. And I'm 97% sure I have those bathmats in my Downloads folder already... so if nobody else feels the urge, and Lee is cool with it, I'd be happy to give it a try to make this a puddle-draining grate - with the caveat that I'm only a couple of steps above a total n00b when it comes to BHAVs, so there is a risk that the grate will asplode and leave a big hole in the ground.

Go for it Nix - I had a look in the BHAV. In mog's object she checks for is it a rug and the EP - I don't think you want that - then a main BHAV with the Set to next to find the puddles. She has a custom INIT as well - I think again its copy paste time - possible line by line, though not sure.
