Brandon (the hubs) plays bass guitar, well, he's still learning. He plays "regular" guitar, or whatever you want to call it, too. But is really into bass. This guy, who we discovered by accident, is INCREDIBLE! I'm just beyond amazed at what he does. Very, very talented. He plays harmonies with just the one instrument, there are times it almost sounds like a whole band! Truly incredible.

@celebkiriedhel - Blue Rodeo! Yeah they're well-known here in Canada. They're good. I'm not super familiar with their music, but I saw the lead singer do a free outdoor concert once and he was great.
@CatherineTCJD - KD Lang is well-known too. Her music isn't usually my style but she's well-respected, very talented, and gives the best acceptance speeches. That other clip is traditional Nova Scotian folk music. Part of our heritage and played for tourists and at some special events. TBH I'm not from Nova Scotia so can't say how popular it is there, but it's not the type of stuff they play on the radio here.
Actually lots of the videos I post are Canadian since that's what I'm exposed to. This, however, is like the most quintessential Canadian music clip I can think of. It's a bunch of hockey players (in the white jerseys) and singers (in the black jerseys - including the guy from Blue Rodeo), singing a famous Canadian song in a locker room after a hockey game. All that's missing is a keg of beer, some maple syrup, and a moose.

Yeah, the Off Kilter guys cover that song too - I didn't know it was a "Canadian" song. LOL! ...and I see a few 'beverages' in there
KD Lang isn't really "my style" either, but she's what I think of when I think of Canadian music, for some reason...
@Jones - that dude's pretty good! He's playing the bass as though it's a lead guitar. I bet your hubs could do that, if he's already fluent on lead? Cool idea.

I am looking for some info on Jacques Loussier's version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue, so ended up listening to it. I don't usually like jazz, but this piece is beautiful. As you might guess it's being performed at our next concert. We have a wonderful young accompanist who is able to play in many styles; we like to show him off.

If you haven't worked it out yet, I like all styles, but it's the words and stories of the music that attract me most. The other Canadian Band that I like is Bare Naked Ladies.
This is the first ever song I heard of theirs.
As for guys who can make one instrument sound like a band - get this one - I was blown away by it.
