DirectX 9.0 error

My laptop that I had for a few years got wet a few weeks ago - I bought a new laptop and I knew that this was going to happen lol, so here I am.
I'm getting the infamous Directx 9.0c error when I try to open TS2. I've tried to run as administrator and everything else, nothing is working.
I have the Ultimate Collection through Origin. I'm running Windows 10. I've attached the config log file from the folder. Please help!

I tried windowed mode as a last resort, and it's working now! I apologize that I didn't try that firsthand lol

Before you post requesting help
Information we need

  1. The -config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\ Click "full editor" below to attach a text file.
  2. Your operating System.
  3. What the problem actually is - that will be a picture to show the problem (optional), and accompanying text files that turn up (optional), and a detailed description of what happened, and what you expected to happen.
