Does AL install? Or does that crash?

Hihi, I'm still looking in, just that I've been out all day, and just now got around to checking the steps.

Everything went well, I'm installing Sims 2 on the VM now.

Question: I left the space at 40 gigs, and while it should be more than enough, in the event that I go on a CC download spree and run out of space (lol), could I allot more space without any issues?

Okay, installed it and two immediate problems.

My screen is set to 800x600 and I can't make it any bigger.

And...this. (refer to screenshot)

I ended up looking for the all-in-one Sims 2 installation because ugh at reinstalling all those packs.

The screen set to 800x600 is a graphics rules.sgr issue. You can go back to the special card I made for you that allows you the higher graphics, with the medium cpu. Because you've done an all-in-one Sims 2 installation you have to make sure that you put the graphic rules in the appropriate folders. The collection games have a bit of a numbering difference - so you'll have to check all the game folders, and there's at least one collection, where you need to put it in a couple of places.

The pink hood is a problem other people have had before - I think it turned out to be a graphics driver issue?

Ugh. That might be something Ekkii can help me with since this is on a VM.

But I can do all that when I get back laters. Smile

If you google pink neighbourhood you'll get some tips to fix it. It might also be a lot corruption/hood corruption. Start up a new hood without CC and see if that is pink. If it isn't then it's a lot corruption.

Hi, I have almoust the same problém. I've instaled Windows 7 64 bit on my new PC (CPU Intel i5 4440, MB GB H87M-HD3, 16 GB RAM and GPU Radeon R9 270x gaming 2 GB) a started to install The Sims 2 with all expasion packs (from University to Appartment Life, no snuff packs). Everything was ok until I've started the game. First the resolution was only 800x600 but I founded a tip how to fix it, so now I have 1680x1050. But the problem is that I can't set up the smooth edges because its grey and the game without them is ugly. Do you have a solution how to fix it pls ?

Sorry for my English, I not a native speaker/writer :-D

Fresh install of the game, so no CC was added yet.

Nama,
OK. We can cross out the lot corruption/hood corruption issue then. So that goes back to graphics driver issue with Ekkii to resolve for you.

Have you tried the original graphic rules yet? Has that helped with the screen resolution, etc?

Tokyo.dragon - let me know how you go with the instructions from the first post. If all else fails, please post up your config-log.txt and we'll go from there.

I tried one of your fixes, to no avail on fixing the resolution.
