You're the best, Kiri, so I hate to ask this, but it seems that the config files you've uploaded have expired or otherwise 404ed? I have a 7900 and the Ultimate Edition courtesy of Origin, so a reupload would be great.

@faithsimmer,@strawberry85 - Good to hear it's working.

@12milematt - missing uploads - they are in the attachment at the end of the post... they should be available? If you're getting a previous version of the thread then you need to reload/refresh. Let me know if it's the attachment at the end of the post that is giving you the 404.

@Beckinpdx - working - is ok if it says not found.

@lommux - sorry, I only fix graphic rules. Sounds like it didn't install properly.

@ChiSake - need Config log to see what's happening.

@DJames - not full config-log.txt. Please attach to the post, rather copy/paste. For that sort of problem, it's likely that you've got a dud mesh/recolour in the game. Most likely occurs when you've used a recolour and removed the mesh.

@Natty2014 - You put in the INTEL fix? The reason I ask is that it looks like it didn't take. Not found in database is not a problem.

@Lamerq2 - you need to use the RADEON fix. Until you've done that, you'll be stuck in low-res.

@INateYou - Use the INTEL fix.

The Fixes are now attached to the post at the bottom, rather than in the body of text. Please make sure that you are getting that one.

The folders that they go into are:

In the Program Folders

\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\Config\
\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\CSConfig\

For the Ultimate collection - the folder selection is:

\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\
\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\CsConfig\

Please make sure that you put them in both Config and CSConfig. If you don't - it won't fix both CAS/BodyShop and Game.

It works I can open it but once I get past the big cinematic intro and goes to the load screen and freezes, music still plays but the game has crashed.
Sad

That's not what I would call working Beck.
Can you post up your config-log with the game crash? I'll have a look and see what's happening.

Hello, Sorry to bother you.
I've read several pages on this topic but still have a couple of questions.

Ok, I got the Ultimate Sims 2 collection. I have a nvidia geoforce (?) I think it's 680 but not sure.

My problem in game is that the trees and the neighbouring lots beside my Sim's house are terrible graphics. The trees especially are horrible. They look like they are not completely rendered *if this makes sense*. I tried changing out the graphics rules (as per your instructions) and I tried this "enumerateMultisampleLevels true"

Also in the config-log it says my device is not found in data base.

Is there any fix for this? I mean when I look across the street from my Sim's house her neighbours houses are all really blurry and 'unrendered'.

Sorry to be so terrible at explaining things.

This is all very new to me.

Thank you for your time and patience. I have to go to work now so may not be around if you are able to reply.

Sorry about pasting, didn't know how else to add it. I haven't recoloured anything though. I just installed the game and started to play. I have no CC or anything on this pc that would conflict with the game. This isn't even the pc that I used to play sims 2 on.
Here's the config log attached.

@simmtress re lot and tree graphics. That is actually the one major weakness of TS2 (and EA should thank their lucky stars they never fixed it because that would have made TS2 perfect) - the in lot rendering of neighbouring lots and trees is -awful-. There are some fixes out there to make the hood trees a bit nicer, but the lots are always gonna look like that.

Kiri: This is the post that I was trying to get the file from, and it doesn't seem to have an attachment, but this link, which 404s.

(11-07-2014 07:28 PM)celebkiriedhel Wrote:  Hi hatabear, you don't need to post up the pics - the config log is enough.

Please use this config log - I think it will fix things better than the 7900 fix (which I will need to update)

Download hatabear fix

Basically - your system was being thrown back to medium because there's a line missing in the 7900 card. I've fixed it, and stuck in a couple of trace to make sure it's worked.

What I need you to do now, is to put this fix into your game - Freetime, config and csconfig. Start up the game, then post up your config-log again.

You should have all the things that go with hi-res - higher res, smooth edges, etc. I'd also like to see how you're doing with Desiderata. The thought I have is maybe the birds are stuffed for med-res.
