SIMS4 Sims4 rants and raves

I don't mind a loading screen to go to the Dance club in the next hood, but I do mind not being able to load them in build mode and tweak away.

Well it sounds like you'll have a loading screen when moving between lots in the same 'hood too. Only the uneditable public spaces will not have loading screens, as far as I understand it. Which I don't mind. I don't mind loading screens at all really, since I'm used to them in TS2. Would gladly accept loading screens for all lots and public spaces if it meant the actual game runs well, looks good (sims keeping all their CAS detail and lighting) and is fun to play.

Oh so like a park? Is that what they mean by a public space? Why on earth would they make them uneditable.

I'm actually really excited about ts4, I think/hope they may have found their 'silly' again! And the new build features look fantastic. I focus more on build/buy mode so the plastic hair won't bother me

The thing about not being able to edit public spaces, I guess we'll have to wait and see but it sounds like a transition area that your sim goes thru on their way to a nightclub for example. But the actual nightclub will be editable? I dunno.
My biggest concerns for ts4 are:
can my computer handle it
if it's awesome, will I abandon all the plans and projects I have for ts2

I dunno Shasta. If it is awesome perhaps we will all be none TS2ers? But the thing I love about TS2 is how much I can customise it; that wont be available in TS4 off the bat - if at all.

Lol you guys. I'm sure I will still be downloading TS2 content. Somehow I really doubt TS4 will be that awesome. EA's idea of silly is obviously the walk and already we are being restrained if public places are not customizable. This was always Sims 2's greatest draw card, being very open ended so that your imagination can do whatever it likes.

You already are. And I think until we have the hacking community assess the game and its limitations, we shouldn't give up on TS4 just yet... despite how hard some of the EA PR reps are trying to get us to do just that.

Sims can build rockets and go into space. And own an observatory and listen in on the Sims in the rocket.
