I found this post: http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/showthread.ph...1#pid23431

The member said that they had used that graphics txt and it fixed their issue - which was the same as yours. You could try that - download it and then change the extension from txt to SGR. Make sure it goes in your latest EP - and Mansion and Gardens counts as an EP.

Ok, I have solved my problem. Apparently it was because I had the sims 2 store edition installed. Once I uninstalled that I was able to change the resolution. What led me to believe Store Edition was the problem is because when I looked at my config log it said Sims 2 Store Edition instead of Mansion and Garden and since there is not TSData folder for the store edition, I did not have anywhere to place the graphics file. Thanks for all the help I received, greatly appreciated.

Update: I am able to change my resolution but now I can not change neighbors on/off, view decorations on/off and view distance. They are not greyed out, I just cannot change them. Not a huge problem but if there is a solution, I would love to use it.

I'm awake! I'm awake! I'll have a look at your old config.

The Sims2 Store Edition is not actually the problem, but it does mean that you have to go searching for where to put things because it puts it in places that doesn't necessarily match what happens in other single expansion packs. It's the same with the other collections. (I think we've had this problem before).

If you can upload the new config, I'll help you out with that as well.

Edited to add: Looking at your old config - yes you do have Sims SC. We've definitely looked at that configuration before.

You have the texture memory problem.
You have the Sims think that Radeon 7?00 can't cope with anti-alias (which is untrue)

All the problems you list, are actually as a result of being fixed at Lo Res. This is fairly simple to fix, and I've got a card to download that fixes this: Download Config-AMD7700

Since you've already uninstalled Sims2 Store Collection (btw - do you have the standard Sims Base Game installed? Otherwise how is it working?), just plonk these cards down in your Config and CSConfig folders in your Mansion and Garden expansion pack game folder.

Once you've done this, fire up your game, and send me the resulting config-log.txt. I'll check to make sure it's doing everything it's supposed to.

Morning Kiri, at least it is morning here in Michigan. I was asleep last night when you were waking up, so sorry for the delay. Thanks so much, this solved my problem. I did make some changes to the resolution and added 1920x1080 because this looks better on my monitor. I have included the before config (before I made the resolution changes) and the after (after I made the resolution changes). I do have one questions, if I was to reinstall the store edition, where would I put my files? Once again, thanks for your help, I really appreciate.

Kiri, is it an idea to make a post with a list of all the cards you have made so far and a link to those files to download?

WOW, I was unsure at first when loading up my game, then I got to neighborhood view at first I was afraid my game would continue to curse me with appearing the way it was, then I see how nice everything looks, I was so shocked I got super excited! Kiri you really did it! You made my game detect my card, and now my neighborhoods look like how it should. No more tree shadow problems either they look good, occasionally some lots flicker when scrolling through the neighborhood, but I really don't care much about that because 2 of my old computers did that too. And my graphics in-game look slightly better too, not a whole lot compared to how they were, only a little bit, for instance the carpet looks very detailed in game now. Sims hair is not as bright in colors with heavy contrast anymore, it's Slightly better, easier on the eyes. And grass in-game looks slightly better too, as well as some other smaller detailed objects that you normally wouldn't notice before. But not entirely alot. Water in-game looks really nice now, has reflection which adds lots of realism. Neighborhoods look great! The grass in Neighborhoods look real now, it's got a subtle feel to it, calm not too bright with colors which I like a lot, water reflects trees, Sims and houses. Graphics haven't improved in-game too much. Only slightly but neighborhoods have greatly! I am pretty sure the game only runs off of the Intel Card which isn't as good as the AMD Graphics especially considering that the AMD one is meant for gaming. If the game could read that card I'm sure it'd look much better, still haven't found an option as it appears limited in settings. But if I do I will inform you of my findings immediately.

I still have a few more settings locked out, not greyed out though, I mean they look clickable still although it appears that they are aren't, it won't allow you to change them for that matter if you click on something else it just stays on the current setting, it won't allow you to click on other settings it just stays on one while it seems like you could click on a different one since it isn't greyed out. The lot view settings, lot distance settings, and neighbors settings won't let you change at all. On all households the allow neighbors option is by default set to off but strange enough they still have walk-by's and Neighbors show up anyway. And neighborhood view distance or whatever it's called that lets you see your entire neighborhood from lot view won't let you change settings either. Thanks again for your help Kiri. I got so excited I felt like a little kid again lol.

Sorry for my late response.... my step dads been in the hospital for breathing problems, I've been babysitting my brothers kids alot, and haven't really had the opportunity to post back yet. Usually if I take long it's because you succeeded, or I haven't gotten the time to test things out yet because I've been busy, usually one of those 2 reasons. So if I take long just assume you were successful that's most likely why.

Oh and LeeFish, if I remember right you are the Admin on MTS that gave me my username to begin with, at least I think you were lol, it was either you or a guy with the Pringles mustache guy as their logo, nonetheless I never got the chance to properly Thank You. So Thanks. And I agree with that idea LeeFish, that could possibly be a good idea if all cards were to maybe be put in a post for download. Or Perhaps maybe just a single updated card file with every card that has been used on here so far in one file, then maybe less people would need help with all those cards being compatible altogether, just an idea.

Hello there!
I'm glad to find this thread.Sorry if this is off-topic but it seemed relevant to post it here .For awhile I thought Chronos+Sims 2 combination is only my problem.
Simdrew, does You got black box shadows too when You switch to high-performance(8870m/8770m)?
Also when snow is on the ground I'm missing neighbourhood terrain (in lot view). No such problems with power-saving(HD4000),I used Kiri's edited graphic rules for it.That black shadow thing is caused by latest drivers but it has positive side too because it mean 8870m kicks in.This snow thing leaves me scratching my head,it's odd.
Now if someone is kind enough to let me know how attach a picture to post I'll show You what's going on with snow.
Hope my post isn't too messy
EDIT:Here's pics,thanks Simdrew

Hi, Oeselian! Yes I did have black box problems but only with tree's apparently, Kiri has resolved my issues though. In order to post pictures you have to make a post, and then click full edit on your post and click choose file, then after you have added a file click add. Then update your post then your pictures are there as an attachment I believe. In order for that attached image to be inserted into the post you would need to click up top insert image, this is just my speculation hope it helps! Smile
