Recognising Newer Graphics Cards for Sims2

I've had a look at your config log. (sorry about the delay)

It's definitely not anything unexpected, so the Radeon 7700 graphic rules should be good for you.

If things are going pink - there may be a graphics driver problem/directx version problem.

I have been missing Sims 2, so decided to install it in my laptop. I noticed my smooth edges is greyed out and was hoping you could help me.

Hi Alawren.

You've got the texture memory problem.

Download this Graphic Rules

In your Mansions and Gardens Folder, in \TSData\Res\Config\ and \TSData\Res\CSConfig\

Save your graphic rules.sgr (I usually rename it to graphic rules-old.sgr)

And unzip the cards. This should fix it.

Edit: The DNS server in Australia for my ISP is down. What that means is that if you're not in Australia, then you should be able to download it. If you are and it doesn't work - then you'll need to wait up to 48 hours.

Thanks for taking a look at it, glad to know that at least the card is working correctly. I've actually been having problems with my game either flashing pink and crashing or just simply crashing for the past month or so, then yesterday I told my quad core PC to only use one core, and unticked my game in the Data Execution Prevention thing and was able to play for hours yesterday without a single problem. I don't which of them did the trick, or even if it really is properly fixed at all , but it's a good sign seeing as the day before I had at least six crashes in as many hours.

That is a great sign! It sounds like it's fixed. Keep me updated on it, I'm always interested in seeing what's happening.

I definitely did everything and always the same thing happens
And in relation to the number of CARD, mine does not appear.
Only appears the name 'Intel ® Graphic Family

Can you post up your <pcname>-config-log.txt which you will find in the logs folder in your game.
Also - do you have any CC in your game at the moment?

Windows 8.1 can be very tricky when it comes to getting the game to work.
