Changing the quality of extracted fruit

@HugeLunatic, I hear your rant and I agree with it. I think this creator is someone who (obviously) can make objects, but who at the same time doesn't know enough about making objects to see that 1) things sometimes aren't quite as simple as they may appear (self-referencing BHAVs, anyone?) and 2) sometimes the easiest solution (e.g. make a whole new object) isn't necessarily the best solution.
Anyway. The more I look at MLC's BHAV (and Lunie, please correct me if I'm wrong here), the more I think that what it actually does is tell the game which object to restock with if you're selling this. Since it has the GUID of the original apple, that's what it will restock with - not this apple. I don't think it has anything to do with the quality. (Still, it might be a good idea to change it further down the line, so you're selling the right apple. )
Edit: @joandsarah, I think all "get quality" does is tell the game to "store the object's quality in Temp 0". It doesn't actually have anything to do with deciding the quality, that's "set quality". I think.

@Nix, yes you're right about what that BHAV does. But the GUID in the cc package is the same as the original, because it was intended as a buyable override, not a standalone.
@joandsarah, did you try changing the value in the SHPE? Also, that param should be a 2 not a 3. My mistake, I was counting NORMALLY instead of crazily.

@HugeLunatic: I try changing nothing unless one of you clever people say so, as I know nothing about modding. This is my first ever project, unless you count changing the value of a wage modding, but that was very easy.
I see the SHPE, and I have found a value under 'level of detail listing' 0x00000000 Is that what I need to change? What do I put?
Also should I change all those 3's in param to a 2?
@NixNivis: Should the Guid be changed then? Where and what do I do for that?

@HugeLunatic, d'oh! Of course! I'm sorry, I keep getting confused by this "a whole new object that's just supposed to override one little thing" thing.
@joandsarah, no, the GUID should stay; I was getting confused, sorry. I think what Lunie wants you to change is the TXMT name on the "Parts" tab of the SHPE - but do what Lee says first, and change the param values and see if it works. That's the really important part at this stage.

@HugeLunatic: and @leefish: I changed the 3's to 2's with no change. Fruit looks and acts bland.
What do I do in the SHPE now?

@joandsarah, what I think Lunie wants you to do in the SHPE is to change the Material Definition File for the foodqualityapple subset (on the "Parts" tab) from ##0x1C050000!accessoryapple-[351ddb1f-a40b-4745-8a28-f2b70784c143]_foodqualityapple_bad to ##0x1C050000!accessoryapple-[351ddb1f-a40b-4745-8a28-f2b70784c143]_foodqualityapple_good. (It's just the bolded part that needs changing.) This changes which texture the object uses by default. It's just a cosmetic change, though, it doesn't change the actual quality, so the apple will still behave blandly even though it'll look scrumptious. But let's wait until we actually hear what Lunie wants, because she might know some other SHPE tricks that I don't.

I'll go try that as it shouldn't hurt anything, will it? So far these fruits seem to be an indestructible force.
Time zones yes. I was checking the thread all afternoon, but I still have a few before bedtime.
@NixNivis: It worked! Now in the catalog they still look bland, but they change to looking mouthwatering when placed on the floor and in the sims inventory. I did try juicing again, but yes it's just cosmetic.
@Michelle: I'm saving your instructions because it might come in handy for something else, so thank you for those.

Ctrl+Right click the thumbnail in game, Jo- that should update the texture in the catalog.
Note: I say "should" because this apple isn't behaving itself very well!
