Closed Sims 2 and Graphics Cards - the fixes.

hello everyone can you help me i have ultimate collection version and i can`t set maximum resolution and all details
i have R9 270 and windows 8.1 PS i`ve added my card ID to videocards file

Is that nVidia files maximum graphic settings to GTX 680? How I can make better graphic?

@Tumeez Please define "better graphics" - if you mean the view of other lots in the hood from inside your lot, you can't. If you mean you have any of the issues listed in the first post then please try and apply the appropriate fix, if that does not work then please attach the log file as requested in the first post.

It seems that the graphic card fixes (hatabear and Amd 7800) aren't downloadable anymore (leads to an error 404). Is it supposed to be like that...?

@mandarine - the files are not hosted on leefish - they are on kiris server. I will ask her to add them here, right now it is 6am in Australia, so she is asleep

lol, sorry, I will try and dl them periodically and then get them on here. I dont think kiris server can handle the demand.

I mean how I can maximized my GPU using? Can I setup more GPU memory using or something? Same to CPU?

Tumeez - I'm not able to help you with that one. The Sims 2 is limited to what it can see.

everyone else - we've moved the downloads to Lee's server, and the pictures as well. Hopefully this will stop the missing files issue.

I only had to follow steps 1 to 4 and my game was fixed (no more crashing, textures and details loading properly).
Everything seems to be working perfectly so far.

One question though:
I really want to add custom mods to my game (I have the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and I'm running Windows 8).
Is this a good idea or a bad idea? Don't worry, I already know how to install and enable custom mods, but I haven't actually done it yet because I'm a little hesitant. I'm worried the game will start crashing again if I use mods. Can someone give me advice please?
