@CathyHayes - You should be able to install mods no problem. Just make sure you put them in the right place, and be careful to avoid mods that conflict with each other or that are not compatible with Apartment Life, since that was the last expansion. And as always, backup your game (the "My Documents/Origin Games/Sims 2 folder" or whatever it's called) before installing potentially harmful mods.

H! sorry to bother. I have the sims 2 ultimate collection, windows 8.1, and an Intel HD 4000 graphic card. The game loads fine but the minute I go into cas it crashes. I checked my config-log and the graphic card part says : Name (database): Intel® HD Graphics <<NOT FOUND IN DATABASE!>>. Could that be the problem? cause other people have windows 8.1 and they say it works fine. Thanks in advance.

Edit: so I went ahead and install the fix for intel and It tried it. It didnt crashed anymore so Thanks. but now I cant type anything (names, last names even cheats) ..and I`m like what happened? O_O

After playing a bit I get a some kind of bug either my sim's face in the UI panel becomes distorted with pieces missing or their entire face is missing from neck up. This problem isn't isolated with just my sims! Townies in my friends panel their faces either go missing or black zebra like patterns appear on it. Sometimes they don't look like sims anymore. The icon pic of sims are also affected, with either faces or pieces of the faces missing.
This is a completely vanilla game.

My specs:
Geforce GT 525m
Intel Core i5-2430m @2.4 ghz
6 GB Ram

My config-log:

I got Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free from Origin... I can get it to load just fine, but once i try to open a family, build mode, or CAS, it crashes. My laptop meets all the requirements, I've tried to do various tricks I have found online. I also have Sims 3, SWTOR, and Peggle installed, would those be causing issues? Do you or anyone else have any ideas on what I can do to fix the problem?

Hi. I just got the Ultimate Collection, like a lot of people, and I'm not sure if this problem had been mentioned, but when I do launch my game, none of the neighborhoods show up, the only button available is "Create a Custom Neighborhood" and I was wondering if anyone could help? Thanks. Smile

Nothing is in the directory you specified. It's completely empty but I just unchecked "read-only." My Windows OS is a Windows 7. My Documents folder is linked to my Mac's documents folder, which contains the EA games folder I took a screenshot of.

I attatched a screenshot of my system specs if it helps at all. Otherwise, I have no idea how to force my log file and folder to show.

Where do you find the Config-log if you have the ultimate?

  2. Your operating System.
  3. What the problem actually is - that will be a picture to show the problem (optional), and accompanying text files that turn up (optional), and a detailed description of what happened, and what you expected to happen.
