The graphics rules is set up correctly for you as far as I can see.
Oh by the way - do you have the game running as admin and what compatibility have you set it to?

the graphic rules maker fixed it
So the whole problem was that my grpahic card was not in the database so it didn't get hardware acceleration but with this tool i added it and fixed everything

@joluke - Glad to hear that it fixed it for you. Generally the graphics card on the database doesn't affect things.

Hi Kiri,
Thank you so much for your dedication. I followed your instructions about this being a directX problem and went to EA Help. I confirmed that all DirectX features for my video card were enabled, but I still can't run the game.
I gess the problem should be elsewhere only I am clueless on how to identity or solve it.

i think i finally fixed it! i downloaded the graphic rules maker thing that leefish posted and now my coastline in my town looks better and more smooth.
thank you sososo much for your time. i really appreciate all the help since i would be without a paddle without the tutorial. c: i think it's all set up and good for me now, so i'll be off! thanks again.

Before you post requesting help
Information we need
- The
-config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\ Click "full editor" below to attach a text file. - Your operating System.
- What the problem actually is - that will be a picture to show the problem (optional), and accompanying text files that turn up (optional), and a detailed description of what happened, and what you expected to happen.
