OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOOOOOUUUUU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUUCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I thought a fix would neeeever be created so I can finally play my beloved Sims 2 on my Toshiba Satellite C55-A with an Intel HD Graphics (no number after for some reason) card. I tried changing compatibility mode before and getting the tsbin/data files from an older computer with sims on it... nothing worked. Then someone recently told me to try the Graphics Rules Maker... NOTHING!!! After that failure, I stumbled upon this thread with these directions that I didn't really understand at first but once I unzipped the Intel graphics fix, the game started running! But crashed But THEN, I realized that you did actually upload the Intel-MEDCPU file. I didn't see it all the way at the bottom before because I thought it would be at the top where you put the other fixes. But once I put that baby in....... "GREAT SUCCESS!!!"
YOU. Have made my day, my week, and my year! Now I can have Sims 2 UC (free from EA/Origin - WOOHOO!!) ON-THE-GO!!! If I sound really happy right now... It's because.. I really am lol My only hope now is that I don't fail at life now because of this haha. Write my paper or play sims...... hmmmm......
- My only question now is.... even though it runs perfectly fine now thanks to your instructions, will this ultimately destroy my graphics card in the long run since it originally wasn't compatible?

Is this the config log text you were asking for?
ANGE-config-log.txt (Size: 10.41 KB / Downloads: 413)

Kiri, thanks for everything. You are doing a great job here. I've learned a lot following this thread.
I've switched back to my old game. It certainly has issues, but it's still working way better than the UC. Maybe I'll give the UC another go next time I get a new computer. Meanwhile, I'm just happy to be able to play at all.
Good luck to everyone here. I hope you find solutions to your problems!

I have dual graphics cards and I have got to the step where you have to set the compatibility. I cannot find properties or find the place where you change the compatibility.
If you could help me that would be awesome

My OS is windows 8.1
I have the ultimate collection
Okay so I tried your fix but after I made the changes this pop up that says "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate." So after that I did a very stupid thing and tried to change the graphics rules back to the one I had before your fix, and I think I didn't do that right because the same message pops up. So what I did is that I went to "Config" and copied my backup graphics rules and then replaced the graphics I got from you and put my backup one, soo I think i did something wrong. Do I need to re install my game? I don't want to wait hours and hours to re-install it! I don't want to loose my Sims! PLEASE HELPPPP, IM LIKE CRYINGG!

Thanks very much. I just downloaded the Ultimate Collection, only to find that I had no video at all -- just a black screen with the introductory music. I installed the graphic rules.sgr you recommended for my video card, then did the changes to the file for Parallels VM and bingo. We're rockin'.
