You went to Intel? Did you buy the PC/Laptop from Intel? The reason why I ask is that often the company that you buy it from, adjust different things to suit their company - so you need to get the updated drivers from them. Of course, if they haven't adjusted them, then getting them from Intel is ok.

Try rolling back your graphics drivers.

You should go to the Dell website, to get your intel graphics driver update.
Rolling back means taking out the latest driver.

Go to the control panel, choose System, then Device manager.
Select Display Adapter, and click on the arrow to open it up
You'll see your graphics card name. Right Click and choose Properties.

Select Driver Tab - there's a button there that says Roll Back Driver. You can also see that there is a button there to update the graphics driver.

To Roll back, click on that button.

And yeah - I think you need to uninstall/reinstall your game, then re-apply the graphics rules.sgr and video cards.sgr.

there are 2 intel hd graphics 3000 for my laptop on dell i'm not sure which one to install

edit: i tried to install both but one said that it was going to harm my computer so it shut down and the other one went through. is there any files i should delete because of the other 2 graphic drivers installed? should i still roll it back now that i have the new driver? i tried to play it but the same white stuff comes up. i think it has to do with the crashing because i read a few peoples posts about the same thing and they say it crashes too. this driver is older than the one i got from intel is it supposed to be like that?

What other 2 graphic drivers installed? You can only have one graphics driver at a time.

And yeah - I think you need to uninstall/reinstall your game, then re-apply the graphics rules.sgr and video cards.sgr.

well i mean i installed the one from intel today and then i tried to install another one before this one so i thought there might be some sort of problem because of that but is this driver supposed to be older than the one i got from intel?

edit: but ok i'm going to try uninstalling/reinstalling ;_;

each time you installed one, it over-wrote the one previously. So you've only ever had one graphics driver.

If the uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't work, the only other suggestion I can make is to go to EA and ask there.

Save your playing hood to the desktop so you don't lose it.

Then go into Control Panel, Choose "Programs and Features"
Then uninstall everything that says Sims 2 in there, starting with the expansions packs and ending with the base game.

That's windows way of uninstalling, and it will make sure that everything that needs to go will go. Especially if you didn't delete your original Sims 2 before installing UC.

Then once all that is done, install UC via Origin.
