Hi!

Sorry to mess up this thread with my message, but I thought it was useless to open a new one just for that.

I've deleted my Sims 2 Ultimate Colletion a few hours ago and I've reinstalled a few of my Sims 2 DVDs (Double Deluxe, Glamour Life, Seasons & Bon Voyage) so I can use the AnyGame Starter software.

But at my surprise, after installing a few CC (including a few mods), when I browsed into the computers objects area, there wasn't any! Huh

Then I deleted all the CC and the mods, and there was still no computer! Yet, I'm sure they came with the Base Game, aren't they?

I firstly thought it was because of the Phaenoh's recategorizing mod, and I tried to look anywhere else, but it appeared it was not the case.

Anyone could help me with that? Smile Thanks in advance.

Screenshot when I tried without any CC or mod:

Poisson - there are definitely PC's in the vanilla game. Rename your game folder, and let the game regenerate a new game folder - That's '\My Documents\The Sims 2\' folder I'm talking about.

Then go into your game - without adding anything. And check for PC's.
If you've added any CC in your program folders - (e.g. \The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins) - then take it out as well.

If they aren't there in your vanilla game - you're going to need to re-install the game because it hasn't installed properly.
If they are in your vanilla game - then it is some lingering CC.

When you say you deleted your UC - did you uninstall it? Or did you just delete the folders? I'm assuming for the moment you've uninstalled it. But if you just deleted the folders - that would cause problems.

Cheers Kiri! <3

Actually it seems that it's because of the Bon Voyage patch available at SimsVIP. I uninstalled the EPs and reinstalled and it works now. But strange anyway. And yes, I had previously uninstalled UC.

Thanks for answering. And hoping you will get better as soon as possible. Smile

@Simtopia
It's not unusual for the refresh rate to be blank - that happens to all the high systems.
It's also not unusual for the shadow setting to be greyed out when set to high.

Flickering can be caused by a number of things.
The first one is usually about whether anti-alias "smooth edges" is turned up to max - which yours is, so that's not the problem.

But one of them happens to be if the card isn't defined in the video cards.sgr - which yours is not. So...
Download Video Card - simtopia - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

It may not fix them, but there's a good chance that it will.

@madison95 I can fix your problem, but you need to attach your -config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\

@nikhilkumar Hi You have two problems -

one is the texture problem - you're showing as only having 32Mb clear. And your graphic rules isn't set for high settings.
It looks like you've corrected the Video Cards.sgr but not the Graphic Rules. This would be a problem for you.
On the first page is a graphics cards - choose the one that says 'Graphic Rules - INTEL' and install it in your program folder

For the Ultimate collection - the folder selection is:
\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\
\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\CsConfig\

The other problem - is your caches are corrupted.
Go to 'My Documents\EA\The Sims2\' and delete all the files that end in '.cache'

@pmartes

Try this for a fix -
Download Video Cards - pmartes - Intel® HD Graphics 4600

Put it where the graphic rules is in the program folders

@therezah
Are you able to get me a config-log.txt or is it crashing before that?
If it is - you'll need to do a dxdiag for me.

EA has a help thread that you need to read and follow

What that will determine is if it is actually a directx 9.0c compatibility problem.
At the bottom of that lot, is how to run a dxdiag
Once you've run the dxdiag - click 'save all information' - and it will create a textfile called dxdiag. attach this to a post.

@statho Sorry about the delay. Are you able to provide a config-log.txt? If you aren't you'll need to do what I've told Therezah to do.

@ctripp924
Those jagged lines in the game are caused by anti-alias being off i.e. smooth edges not set to more.

Your anti-alias is turned on in your config - so you need to go into your game - choose game options and set it to more. It won't be greyed out.

In the meantime, I've updated your video cards.sgr to include your card.
Download Video Cards - ctripp - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670

Install it in the same places as you did the graphics card fix.

OK. I THINK THAT IS EVERYONE. IF YOU HAVE POSTED AND HAVE AN OUTSTANDING PROBLEM, BUT HAVEN'T BEEN MENTIONED - PLEASE POST HERE TO REMIND ME.

I've managed to make my Smooth Edges option not greyed out, but it seems that they're not working anyway. When i set them to "more" nothing happens. The lines are as pixelated as they were before.
I had used Graphic Rules Maker with two last options unchecked as madison95 suggested, fixed neighbourhood view and poor grapics with this tutorial and then I set all the "enumerateMultisampleLevels" lines to "true".

@Trotylka can you post me up your config-log.txt and what you've done to the graphic rules.sgr.

As I said to Madison95 - what it suggested was not a good fix - and I'd prefer for you not to have done that. Because what that does is force high settings - but clearly hasn't forced everything otherwise the anti-alias would be working properly.

Also can you give me a screen shot of your neighbourhood. I need to see if your anti-alias, and graphics texture is correct.
