To be able to see what's happening I need to have a look at your config-log.txt Please attach it - instructions are below.

The -config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\ Click "full editor" below to attach a text file.

In the meantime, have you changed your compatibility on the game program to Windows 7?

I don't know what you mean about the device number you mentioned...?

Intel HD Graphics 4600 version 10.18.10.3960
and
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M version 9.18.13.4520

Hi Kiri, i had tried your all intel graphic rules but still got crashes said "the application has crash and terminated bla bla".
I also had several change to my graphic rules but still didn't work. I had run it in windows XP compability mode and as administrative. Here is my change log.
It works fine without any expansions, i mean with the base game only.
Hope you can give me some hints Smile

Hey everyone. I'm not in a place where I can help for the next few days - I hope you can wait. I promise to help on Monday.

In the meantime -

printo - I think I know what we need to do to make it work... it will require an extra file fix.
gnd968 - There is another place to get the device id's - I will post them up monday. Then we can do the fix for your graphic rules and video cards.

Hello. I have a problem with The Sims 2 on Windows 8.
I'm French so forgive my mistakes.
I install all the adds on perfectly. But when I launch the game, it says there is a compatibility problem.
- i tried to change it to windows 98, XP, vista etc...
- I tried to change the graphic rules as you told in this forum
- I tried to install it on wndows 7 (it works) and copy the files and replace the files on windows 8 with those files.
=> I can't play... I bought all the CDs a few months ago and I'm sad.. Please help me !

Thanks

Lucie

@itshanx
Your texture memory is quite low (96Mb) I'm wondering if that's (a) the reason why you're lagging with camera move, and (b) what your texture memory really is.
I've had a look at your card specs compared to mine, I'm thinking we could hard-code a higher number in there.

On the first post there is file there called
GraphicRules-NVidia-TextureFix.rar

Try using that one in the appropriate folders in your program files...
\EA\The Sims 2 - Mansion & Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Config\
\EA\The Sims 2 - Mansion & Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\CSConfig\

@lulubidon
Before I can help you I need to see your config-log.txt.

hey thank you for replying to me @celebkiriedhel that seemed to fix lag Big Grin how do I change the texture memory?
I have 1tb hard drive. If I up the memory on texture the remaining lag will go?

also want thank you so much for doing this for me and other simmers, I really love sims 2 series Smile

That card did fix the texture memory. Smile

What remaining lag do you have? That's likely to be because of CC rather than the graphics (that's of course depending on whether you have CC or not).
