No GIF, no cat here, but a strangely beautiful story that I share here because it seems appropriate.
A few stray dogs invite themselves in a funeral ceremony. Animals can be so wonderful and can even pay humans back in kind.

It's not a gif, but look at our 2 newest babies!!!
They are soooo sweet! ...and sick
They were rescued from, like, a black market kitty dealer - she had 17 cats, and her landlord was kicking her out because of them. (So the story went...) When we got there, it was an old studio apartment with nothing but the cats and a few litter boxes in it. They did not have filled water bowls - and she 'fed' them while we were there - scattering food on the floor like you'd feed chickens! The poor little kitties only got maybe 10 kibbles each. To say I was appalled is a gross understatement! If we had already moved (to the house I'm hoping we can get) I would've taken all 17 cats! Cat's Sanctuary would now be in business! Anyway - we rid them of their fleas (yuck!) and gently cleaned them, etc... On Saturday, neither one had eaten or drunk anything since Wed. night (when we got them) so I ran them in to the ER vet. They were having tremors, drooling, and the tips of their tongues were ulcerated. Vet thinks they had been poisoned! And can you see Angela's ear? The idiot that supposedly spayed her - docked the tip of her ear (as a mark that she'd been spayed!) Why didn't he put a little tattoo, like the do at the pound?! Anyway... thanks for letting me vent a bit. I may be starting a Go-Fund-Me campaign for these guys after their blood-work comes back - depending on what they find. They have the sweetest meows! Right now, they just want to be held, and hide their heads under my elbow.
