It's weird, I know it's not the best machine but I can run the sims 3 with 4 expansions
And The Sims 4 also doing well.

And what about "anti-aliasing turned on"? Is there any way to put it off?

My CPU is dual.

Sorry for my bad English. And thank you very much for taking the time to respond. And try to help Smile(:

Hi, I'm playing Sims 2 Ultimate on a Windows 7 desktop (but in compatibility mode). The screen tears or flickers, specifically when I move the mouse, so it's like I see a line of the background or the sky, etc. There's no lag, no crashes, no other problem. It has all the settings on High but Smooth Edges is greyed out.

I have been searching for DAYS and have no idea how to fix the problem. I don't know if my graphics card is too new and therefore unrecognized or if it's actually NOT GOOD ENOUGH to play Sims 2 (which I thought wouldn't be true but I've been reading a lot about Intel not being good). I'm not sure which fix to try because I just don't know! I would really appreciate any help if you had some time to spare, thank you.

I think this is the thing I'm supposed to paste? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I have no idea what I'm doing!

"paste" you say? I think you're supposed to attach it as a file. But what do I know? Perhaps this'll do as well...

SO SORRY, NOW I understand what that means. I thought ~attach~ was used interchangeable with ~copy~ (I even checked other sites and saw other people pasting their info and used this to reassure myself...) :-( I was wondering why the instructions said I would need to click the "full editor" thing to just paste something. Haha. Anyway I think I did it right this time but who knows, Sorry![/quote]

I just noticed... the options for Shadows is now greyed out also! This was not the case before - I could adjust shadow settings however I wanted.

No need to apologise. I was merely trying to help. Smile

Yeah, sometimes - on other forums, mostly - people are sloppy and use terms like 'copy' and 'attach' as if they are the same thing. And in some cases, it isn't a big deal, either. But the configs and logs coming with this game can be long and windy. Too long to even fit the message entry window. So some important part that Kiri might need, might not even show up if you copy&paste Smile
And besides, we would not want everyone to have to look at these dumb walls of text, would we?

@aslsier @BoilingOil

Thanks BO - attaching the log is what I need for exactly that reason - I need to see the whole log.

Aslisier

You need this video card - Download video card for Intel® HD Graphics 4600
and you need to use the Graphics Card Intel from the first post.

You need to run it as an administrator, and you need to have your smooth edges on max. You can see the pictures to show what I mean in the first post.

Thank you so much for that explanation! It can be so hard to figure out how people are using technical terms on the internet when they speak informally and even with slang. I can only translate it and then try to figure out the most likely meaning, haha. Your comment is really going to be useful to me in the future!

Wow, thank you so much for the help and quick response, celebkiriedhel. So if I am correct, I just make "back ups" and then put that download in those two Config folders? Sorry but I am trying to follow word for word without understanding the words, so I don't want to mess up and create more trouble!

Hello! I'm playing The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on a Windows 7 laptop. There are MANY things wrong with my game.

#1 The lag is HORRIBLE!!! It only happens during Live Mode and the lag makes Sims 2 UNPLAYABLE. Every second is lag.

#2 When it isn't lagging my sims are HORRENDOUSLY GLITCHY. Sometimes they end up as a blob of spikes and stretchy ribbons or their faces turn black. Or the textures turn computerized glitchy. Sad

Can someone PLEASE fix my game?!
