@aslsier That's correct. Smile

@Mariajose2801
@Neropanchi

Both of you have a low CPU number. Sims 2 graphic rules doesn't recognise dual or quad core CPU's because they hadn't been invented in 2004-2008.

You can try this card -
Download Graphics-Intel-LowCPU

Put it in the config and csconfig folders as per the first post.

because of the Low CPU numbers, apart from adjusting the Graphic Rules, there is nothing I can do to fix your games. That's just the way it is.

It didn't make any difference! I followed the instructions as far as I can tell but the screen still has flickering and Smooth Edges is greyed out. I think I must have done something wrong but I'm not sure what.

Nevermind - I did do something wrong! All I can say is wow, thank you so so so much! It works beautifully now. After all these hours of frustration you've fixed everything. I appreciate your effort so much. I wish I was rich so I could pay you millions for fixing one of my favourite games Smile Thank you for taking your time to help me.

Hello everybody! I'm new here. I've been scoping this place out for a few days (no I'm not a sim spy) I've been trying all this tips and stuff for graphics and everything. Sadly they don't seem to do anything for me. I have the sims 2 ultimate collection. I have tried editing both the graphics and video configs. I have also tried the config log thing but it always resets for some reason. If someone could help me that would be super. I'm using a fx-9590 for a cpu and an r9 290 (4gig)for a gpu 16 gigs for ram yet doesn't seem to be playing smoothly all the time. Also is there a way of turning off the fast forward stuff so it can only go in normal speed?

I have also tried that thing with setting the low option to high which worked at least for the screen size 1080 and I guess the rest of the options. the smooth edges is greyed out for some reason but wasn't at one point. This game has a mind of it's own. I do have some other issues as well but I don't think they are due to this though.

@Blueangel before I can help you, I'll need to see your config-log.txt from your log folder. Please attach it.

Hi @Blueangel,

We understand that you need help and we sympathize, but...
Below this message is a section that starts with "Before you post requesting help", which tells you exactly all the things that Kiri absolutely *needs* to know from you, before she *can* help. Your post doesn't contain any of that information, though... Now Kiri could try to use telepathy, or one of her many other mystic talents to get that information from you, but it might all go a lot faster, if you helped her a little. Big Grin

Oops, Kiri just ninja'd me Smile

oh no all the ninjas in here! I added the # Kiri - manually setting texture memory thing and did seem to help get me the smooth out edges options and some of the things in the log I think now match what they should. Still seeing some choppiness though Sad Could this be due to fullscreen or locked frames? Sorry I was hoping that it would have been an easier thing without the file Sad

Don't know how or why but now my log shows Memory: 4096MB Free memory: 4096MB I wish I could get it to show to 8 gig. Also don't know why it things my CPU is a 6gig cpu lol.

Seeing as it reports 4096 MB *free* memory - which should be more than sufficient to run TS2 - I'm inclined to say: don't worry about the other half, because a large portion of that will already be in use anyway. But it's still wrong that the other half doesn't show up, of course.

I mean the ram memory not the gpu memory. I currently have gpu memory to 3000 I tried 4000 but it seemed to be more stutter for some reason.

I *know* you mean RAM memory. That's what I'm talking about, too. I just mean that as long as that much is free, you shouldn't have to worry. Although I understand that you would want to know why your Total memory is reported wrong.
I don't think you should try to increase GPU memory. At least not until all other issues are fixed.
