I'm not judging, but I *do* suggest that you remove "lotfullofsims" and in stead use BO - Unlimited Sims. It does EXACTLY the same thing, but it's a lot smaller and - unlike lotfullofsims - it will not conflict with anything ever. Right now, you might not have any conflicts yet. But later, when you start expanding the mods and hacks in your game, you might.

You should be setting the compatibility Blue Angel - If your system is Win8 - then set back to Win 7. If Win 7 - XP. It has made a difference before.

BO is the expert on Mods Blue angel, so I would take his advice everytime.

You guys are great! I have never been to another forums so welcoming and helpful before. You're my first sims2 forums I've signed up to as well. I'll give the xp and mod a try. Is there any other mods I should try or switch out that might do the same thing but work a little better?

I don't see any other mods in your setup that I would have alternatives to recommend for. But I *would* advise you to consider installing BO - No Sim Loaded. I would recommend the Special version. It'll run in the background of your game, and look out for certain problem objects that EA/Maxis forgot to take proper care of. These objects, when encountered, will be properly destroyed, so your game keeps running smoothly.

People who installed this mod after having played without it for a long time, found that 12,000 or more 'faulty objects' were removed. And suddenly their game wasn't laggy anymore, but actually rather fun to play. Truly, No Sim Loaded is to Your Sims 2 game, what a good registry cleaner is for Windows. I know, because I made it Smile

I'm switching one of the other mods and see if it helps things as well.

Hello, it's me again. A few months ago I wrote about problem with invisible snow and I'm still struggling with it.

It looks like this in-game:
with snowdrift: http://i62.tinypic.com/2u6zr06.jpg
with small snow: http://i60.tinypic.com/2iatr85.jpg

I have Windows 8.1 laptop with integrated Intel 4600 and Radeon R5 M230.
My game is base game with all EPs/SPs.

I've attached a config log.

Turning reflections off doesn't help.

When I tried fixes from this tutorial, snow was looking fine but smooth edges weren't working.

I would be thankful for any help Smile

Edit: Graphic Rules Maker sees only my Intel graphic card. I updated my Windows to Windows 10 and Graphic Rules Maker recogized both cards and snow and Smooth Edges were working perfectly. Then I went back to Windows 8.1 and I have this problem again. Maybe manually adding my Radeon card to card list would help but I have no idea how to do this.

(sorry for bad English)

I tried your XP thing and it seemed to be a lot sluggish then with that setting off. the log shows 1 gig memory for xp and back to 4 gig for 7.

Hi, I've tried to solve this problem for ages but couldn't find any fix.
First of all, I couldn't force the dedicated graphic card to run on any of my games. I have Intel HD 400 and AMD Radeon HD 7700M Series. After a few weeks of trying I finally managed to do it. The problem is, while it is clear that the sims is using amd radeon, the game still thinks it's using intel (all the monitors say the dedicated card is active, while the log says something different).
Also, when I've finally forced the game to use the good card, the screen began to flash and flicker constantly, but not in the way it was described on the first page, it flashes even when the game is loading.

At first I thought I can manage and just use intel card, but the gameplay is horrible. I can't even see the snow on the ground (although the option is on and my sims have all the snow options when I click on the ground) and there are max 2 sims on community lots.
Can someone please help me? I'm also posting my config log. And sorry for my poor english.

Hey, I've been trying to figure this out for ages, but still. Nothing's working and this seemed like the best spot to look for help?
I got the Ultimate Collection but whenever I try to start, I get "failed to find any DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics adapters in this system--" But when I open the game in windowed mode, it runs fine. But honestly, it's a lot less enjoyable in that little box! I'm running on Windows 8 and I've attached the text document. Let me know if you have any ideas? Thank you so much! [/php]
