Hey, tiny question: Is it also possible that the problem will be solved if I re-install the game?
Or has that nothing to do with the graphics in the game and my Graphic Card?

Sorry to all - I'm going through another depressive episode so brain isn't working like it should. Will be back when it's over.

Aw, sorry to hear. Even though I'm a stranger to you, I wish you all the best. If I can do anything for you, let me know. Take your time. I will try a few things myself with the sims graphics problem.

Dropping in to say that I don't need help anymore. As I was messing around with the Graphic Rules I have and booting up the game repeatedly, I realized that I also use the Unofficial EPs by ChrisHatch. Popping the Graphics Rules file from the first page into THAT directory instead of the one for the Ultimate Collection fixed my issues. Thank you anyways though, because it was your file that fixed everything. And I hope your RL gets better. ~VP

Hello everyone!
I'm desperate to play The Sims Life Stories again, but I can't manage it since I got my new laptop.
My operating system is Windows 10 64 bits
I have two graphics cards:
1- Intel HD Graphics 4600
2- Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M
I try to execute the game and I get a message with Direct3D error E_INVALIDARG! and then the app closes.
I tried using Windows compatibility problems fixer, but it did not work.
Thanks in advance
Here is my file:

EDIT: I removed the compatibility mode, and now the game works, but it does not work with the correct screen resolution. My screen resolution is: 1920x1080 and the game only runs on 800x600
EDIT AGAIN: I fix the screen resolution, and the smooth edges (they were deactivated), but I cannot get the game to run in windowed mode.

Hi there! First off I would like to thank you for posting your tutorials on here. Thanks to you, I am now able to play The Sims 2 with all of the expansion packs on my Windows 8.1 PC with the right resolution! I have been playing with no problems so far, but I just noticed something in my game, and I hope you can help. When I used to play Sims on my old PC, I enabled the shaders so that my pool can have a proper reflection as well as see the fish in ponds and pools. So when I realized my pools had no reflections on my new PC, I enabled the shaders again but nothing happened. The reflections on mirrors work, and I can see the fish in the tanks just fine ( i haven't checked ponds yet, but the koi pond works fine). I have my graphics on high and the reflections is checked to on in the game. I tried your tutorial on making the game recognize my card but I kept getting a DirectX error everytime I tried to start the game. So now I am at a loss. I hope you can help me get my pretty pools back. Thanks!
P.S. I have a AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series Graphic Card
