@floralblonde
Hi Floral Blonde - your graphics is not ok - anti-alias is off, and it's set to slow CPU, low resolution, low memory settings.
So to start with you need to change your graphics
1. Use Graphics Rules-INTEL.rar from the first post in this thread (the attachment is at the bottom).
2. Download this Video Cards.sgr - Video Cards - 0116
3. Install both files in both of these folders in your program files:
\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\
\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\CsConfig\
When you've done that, do another config-log.txt for me and upload it, then we'll see what else is the problem

@celebkiriedhel I think I've added correctly and tried the game again. The game was definitely smoother however it's now started turning all objects to the right whenever I move/place them. I tried buying a bed and moving some stuff and when I would click it sent the object to face the right? Sorry in advance if that was to be expected!

I've seen similar things! When the mouse gets older, somehow, its signals get mis-interpreted. When that happens, it may result in clicks being processed, even though you didn't click; single-clicks being treated as double-clicks; the pointer jumping around or shaking frantically; or indeed Sims 2 objects being turned around while you're placing them.
When it happenend to me, I already had a second - identical - mouse lying around. And when I switched my rodents, the problem was suddenly gone! So I think @leefish is right: it's most likely a geriatric (old/ancient) mouse!

@floralblonde, is this in a vanilla game (= one with no custom content)? Because this has happened to me, too - but in my case, it was a piece of bad CC. All of a sudden, all seating, including beds, would turn clockwise when I tried to place it. Turned out to be a CC sofa - that I'd had in my game for a while and that hadn't caused any problems before - that was the culprit. (Had to use the 50/50 method to track it down, yay.) Once I took it out, everything worked just fine again.
I'm not saying it isn't a problem with your mouse, because it might very well be - these things get worn, too. But if you get a new mouse and the problem persists, then it might be bad CC.

@floralblonde Your config-log.txt is dated 25/10/2015 15:01 - is that before or after you put in the cards? The reason why I ask is that the video cards fix and the graphic rules fix hasn't taken. That means that either the config-log.txt is not the most current one (and I need the most current one) or you've put the cards in the wrong place.
How I can tell.
In your graphics Card Info
Name (driver): Intel® HD Graphics 3000
Name (database): Intel® HD Graphics 3000 <<NOT FOUND IN DATABASE!>> <-- this shouldn't be happening with the new video cards.sgr
Vendor: Intel
Chipset: Vendor: 8086, Device: 0116, Board: 05641028, Chipset: 0009
in your Device Properties at the end of the config log.txt you have
boolProp enumerateMultisampleLevels false No Anti-alias
boolProp simpleTerrain true SimpleTerrain is that horrible square stuff
So your resolution is set to low - but
uintProp MaterialDetail 3 #default: 3
uintProp ObjectDetail 3 #default: 3
uintProp ObjectHiding 0 #default: 0
uintProp SnowOnGround 1 #default: 1
uintProp Shadows 3 #default: 3
Tells me that your texture resolutions etc is set to high. My card doesn't do that. They are either both high or both low.
So my guess is that you've not installed it properly.
Also - although you've said you've installed UC, your config log.txt says EP9. Which is the M&Gardens from the disks.
This suggests that you've got both the Disks and UC installed. That's a huge no-no. It stuffs up the game big time. It's no wonder you're having problems.
So -
Step 1. Uninstall both UC AND your disks.
Step 2. Decide on one or the other - you can't have both.
Then come back with a new config-log.txt that represents the One you have on your PC.

Yes, the second config-log that @floralblonde attached is exactly the same one as before. They should send the newest version now
