@BoilingOil I've forgive you just this once BO. But next time I think I will need to beat you over the head with some soggy pasta noodles. Smile
My excuse is that I've been sick for the last week. And that's what I'm going to stick to.

@Miasim
Have you change the name of your laptop, or copied your game over from an older pc? That would explain why you've got two logs. Also it also explains why it's two different cards.

So it looks like the video card will be wrong because it's the wrong type of graphics card.

Try downloading this one instead - VideoCards-Radeon-099b.rar

And put it in the Mansion and Gardens - Config and CSConfig.

You need not excuse yourself, dear. And those soggy pasta noodles are a good excuse for me to laugh at you again. Tongue

@celebkiriedhel Wow. I really feel like an idiot. Yes, when I upgraded to Windows 10 and install TS2 on my laptop, I copied my entire Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder from my boyfriend's laptop which I had been using to play. That -config-log must have been the one from his laptop. I only noticed that there were two -config-logs in the folder because I cleaned out my logs and deleted some unneeded ones like Sims2Exception and ObjectErrors. Ugh, sorry to waste so much of your time! I put the new graphicscards file in the config and csconfig folders for M&G and ran the game, still got black screen in windowed mode. I've attached the new (and correct) -config-log.

@Miasim OK! That's looking much better. Your graphic rules and video cards are not set up correctly. So the game side of the equation is fixed as much as it can be. The next part of the equation is the graphics card.

Now Windows 10+Graphics Cards do have a known problem, so I'll look for a solution and get back to you about that side.

In the meantime, I think you said you can tab out of full-screen now?

@celebkiriedhel Awesome, thanks for being so helpful! And yes, yesterday while playing in full screen I was able to tab out of the game and have access to my desktop. I used to have a black screen when tabbing out of the full screen game just like windowed mode. I was able to re-enter the game but couldn't do anything else on my desktop. That appeared to be fixed as of yesterday.

It was definitely a DLs CC issue. For some reason, there were a bunch of files renamed with duplicate extensions (ex: e5f193538009e81fb9bd20775c8e1f99_0010.package.package.package), which was weird bc these are the same files I used in the previous game.

Anyways, thanks so much for the support!

Hello... I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Since then, it seems my Sims 2 install has decided to not use any resolution beyond 800x600. There are no other choices as well... When looking at the logs I see the following message:

Name (driver): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Name (database): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 <<NOT FOUND IN DATABASE!>>

I'm attaching a copy of the log as well. I attempted to intentionally break my Sims 2 install by renaming the "Graphics Rules.sgr" files where I could but that did not seem to happen. Appears that I could not determine which of these files was the active one. I am using a regular install of Sims 2, not the Ultimate release EA put out lately. My most recent update was the Seasons package.

Thanks in advance for the help...

@gritts1

In this thread there is an attachment at the bottom called GraphicRules-NVidia-TextureFix.rar

If you download that, and install it in both of these folders:

\EA\The Sims 2 - Seasons\TSData\Res\Config\
\EA\The Sims 2 - Seasons\TSData\Res\CSConfig\

That will fix your crunchy graphics and screen resolution problem.
