Hi, the things you have to download to fix the Sims 2 from crashing when I click on the create a family button, aren't opening when I download them, they just re-download themselves again to create multiple downloads?

@Daniel I'm not sure what you are downloading - could you be more specific? I had a look at your config log. Pretty sure your CAS is crashing because of something unrelated to the graphics card.
Maybe CC, maybe a corrupt mod or collection.

Everyone else - I'm not doing too well at the moment. Will get to you in the next day or two.

Sorry I've lost it now, it was in one of your previous posts, linking back to windows 8, what does a corrupt mod or collection mean? is there someway to fix it? I've had Sims 2 for 7 years now on the same computer? not sure if that changes anything,
thanks, take your time, no rush.

Hi!

First off I wanted to say Hi and thank you for everything. I hope you are doing well today. I hope you feel better too...

I have an issue. So I installed Graphic Rules and edited everything necessary etcetc. But everytime I load up my game and attempt to change the resolution or do anything in the game itself, I get an error that says like: "Dx3D: OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY. Will now terminate." Or something. It is ONLY in Sims 2. It's weird I have no idea why it's doing that because I have a pretty good Video Card and enough Ram (8GB) To handle sims so it's not making sense and no where on the web does it say how to fix this issue. I've looked everywhere.

I've attached my Config Folder.. (For some reason my Sims folder has two config logs? I attached both. I have no idea why...)

Thank you in advanced for your help and I hope you have a good day.

Hi @WhiteFeather, has this game been moved from one computer to another, perhaps? And fairly recently, too? A quick look at the date as mentioned in the first line of each log file, I noticed that the ELLIEPC version was last rewritten on november 13th, while the DESKTOP-6M62H3C file was last rewritten today. So I think you should remove the ELLIEPC file.

Hello! Smile

I'm having issues on create a sim, of course it's only crashing when I use CC which would seem like a corrupt file but I used it with CC that has worked just fine on windows 10 all that has changed is my laptop could it just be that I'm using a Latitude E6520 now.
It only crashes as soon as I pick any CC on CAS

(the CC is 10 things I've used and always have). Please help me I prefer to be able to play on this one!

Update:
I got it, my husband wrote a script for it

Hi! Smile

I haven't played the Sims 2: UC in quite some time, and I decided to boot it up on my computer which was recently updated to Windows 10. I had to repair the game through Origin because some files had apparently been deleted by my CC Cleaner, but after that it has been giving me a new error that I'm assuming is related to the Graphics Card:
"Direct3D returned an error: E_INVALIDARG! The application will now terminate."

I tried making new graphics rules, troubleshooting the compatibility, double checking it's running my AMD Radeon Card instead of the integrated Intel card. However, nothing seems to be working!

Hello,

I have just recently been trying to use Sims 2 on my Windows 10 (64-bit) laptop, I have been able to successfully download and install the game (I can even enter the neighbourhoods). However, when I entre Create-A-Sim or try to load a household the program crashes and my laptop shows a message say that an error has occurred and the programme will now be terminated.

[attachment=2510]

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give me inorder for me to successfully play the game.
