Basic question regarding pink flashes on Win10

Hello Fishies, this is my first post here so I apologize if i am doing something wrong.
I haven't simmed in a few years, and I just installed sims 2 on my win10 computer...i had some crashes and pink flashes in my neighborhood. I did a bit of research and did all the steps outlined here: http://marasims.tumblr.com/post/17299092...-crash-fix
This stopped my crashing completely...however my hood still sometimes flashes pink (no crashing though). I'm not sure what to do when i see it flash pink except to exit game and start again. It only happens when i leave an unoccupied house to neighborhood view. It never happens when i am in game playing my household..or when they come and go from community lot to home etc.
My basic question is this: Does the flashing pink have any real danger if it doesn't crash my game and if it only happens in hood view? Do I need to edit my Graphics rules/video cards.sgr in GSConfig as well? I read somewhere that GS config is for bodyshop only and you don't need to edit anything in there.
I am not computer whiz so i need all the help i can get !! Thank you... =D

You are actually quite fortunate to have Sims2 at all as you have Win10. Having said that, this pink flashing sounds hugely annoying and I would also be looking for a fix.
Do you have a lot of cc? Or are you using a lighting mod or something like that? Is this a laptop or a desktop?
