So... I'm another person here with issues running Sims 2 Glare
I recently had to uninstall my game due to corruption (saved while a sim was on the phone), and had to reinstall. Had managed to find a fix to running Sims 2 on my laptop before, but cannot find anything now that works. I installed the Directx 9.0c files, do I have to put them into my game? Would appreciate help, sims 4 hasn't filled the void Undecided

OS: Windows 10

Note- My game STILL seems to be corrupted. I haven't played a game yet to see the symptoms, but all my custom hoods are still there along with families.

DX9 won't work on a Win10 system. And DX12 is incapable of performing the DX9 functions. You need DX11, and even that is no guarantee that it will actually work.

You can download it from here:

And just run the install.

This might be a silly question, but will downloading Directx11 get rid of my current version of Directx?

Also, still getting the DirectX error.

No, and your issue, is Windows 10. It's a very hostile, Sims 2 environment. I keep several ThinkPads around, with Win7Pro, so I can play older games like TS2.
