No way... and here I am after almost TWO years since your post.
I tested for 5 minutes that solution. As in I downloaded from here https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.9.1 and put d3d9.dll dxgi.dll into my game. I didn't have any pink soup other than old generated thumbnails.
Not sure about dxgi.dll, does it really cause problems even now? Should I delete it? In the guide you linked to they say alt-tab doesn't work, but it worked for me. So maybe it's slightly outdated?

-config-log.txt from the Logs folder in the My Documents\EA\The Sims2\ Click "full editor" below to attach a text file. - Your operating System.
- What the problem actually is - that will be a picture to show the problem (optional), and accompanying text files that turn up (optional), and a detailed description of what happened, and what you expected to happen.
