BO - Children get Bottles
Isn't it weird, how the Maxoids think it's a good idea to have children do all kinds of weird stuff, and hardly anything sensible? Sure, children play, and they still need to learn some of what can and can not be done. But if they can get a left-over from a fridge, then why would they NOT be able to get a bottle for their younger siblings.
So this mod addresses that problem. However: this ONLY works for all the Maxis fridges. If you have custom fridges, and want them to be child-friendly too, you need to do something about it yourself, alas.
And here's how: open the package of your fridge in SimPE, select the TTAB resource, open it in plug-in view, select interaction 0xA (10), usually named "Baby Bottle", tick the box next to "children", commit file, save, delete groups.cache, and start your game to enjoy your work!
No need for that when it comes to Maxis fridges, though. Because you can download that right here.
UPDATE June 17th, 2012: Obviously, I missed something! The K&B fridges (Solid Sense Fridge and Coldinator) were NOT covered by the initial release of this mod. So here's a fix that requires a little special care:
Enjoy

- Players who DO have K&B, but NOT AL or M&G, should redownload the normal version and put it in Downloads as always.
- Players who DO have AL or M&G, however, do NOT need to redownload (although they *may*), but should pick up the Override in stead, and put it in the "TSData/Res/Overrides" sub-folder of their latest pack's installation folder.
- AGS users who occasionally play without AL/M&G, should probably pick up BOTH files.
Enjoy

Hi BoilingOil! How are you doing? I only occasionally come to the LeeFish site. As you may remember, I usually hang out at ModTheSims, when I'm not in Veronaville that is.
I only spotted this mod a few days ago, and I immediately thought I could use it. I think the likes of the Newson children would love to help their younger siblings more.
I installed it. But when I try to load the game it crashes (with no message) about two thirds of the way through the process of loading CC. If I remove the mod, the game loads OK. In my experience, this happens when a newly loaded mod (or modded object) is trying to access something in an EP I don't have. (I only have the EPs up to EP3 - Open For Business.)
I opened your mod in SimPE and found that it contains seven TTAB records. I presume that's one for each Maxis fridge in the game. Now, in my game I only have three full Maxis fridges (the Wornable, the Econocool and the Ciao Time Bovinia BRRR) plus the uni mini fridge, which I don't think can be used for formula bottles. So I'm wondering if removing the TTABs for the fridges I don't have might fix it. Unfortunately I don't know which TTAB is for which fridge.
An alternative explanation is that it may have something to do with the features introduced in Seasons -- i.e. fresh food, fishing, leftovers. My game engine is OFB (or more precisely the version of the OFB game engine that comes with the Celebration SP), so I don't have any of this.
Anyway, is there anything I could do, or you could do for me, that would let me use this mod in my game?
By the way I tried the fix you described for the only custom fridge I use -- MsBarrows' formula fridge from TSR. It partially worked. The child got the bottle out of the fridge using the little stool to stand on. But then we got a "jump bug" and the bottle disappeared. So the toddler never got fed.
Thanking you in anticipation!

Hello @AndrewGloria,
I'm reasonably well, thank you for asking. And how about you?
To be perfectly BO (how can one be Frank, if that is not ones name, after all?), I've not been to MTS in ages, and my memory for names is pretty rotten. So I cannot say that I remember anyone in particular. Anyway, that is not important.
And yes, I agree, from the description, one might get the impression that this mod was almost made with the Newson kids in mind. It should be perfect for that household. It would make Ginger's life so much easier if Gabby could help. And maybe their brothers as well.
The problem is, that it's been a long time since I last modded anything. And I'll prolly get lost in SimPE pretty quickly right now. Heck, the last update to this mod was made over 10 years ago. So even if I get to go looking for what's going on, it may take a while.
But yeah, I guess that the TTABs are for the respective fridges. Which also means that each TTAB has a different number in the "Group" column, these numbers are associated with the different fridges. You could perhaps look try to figure out the "Group" numbers belonging to your three fridges, and then throw away the four TTABs that do NOT use those same numbers. I realize that this is a bit tricky, though...
Now the Jump Bug... I remember that happening a lot with this mod, too. I do not remember, though, what that meant, exactly, or how it was fixed. The mod is old, the game is ancient, and I can't promise that I'm not going senile. So right now, I'm inclined to encourage you to drop this mod and not use it. But I also understand that this is not the kind of resolution you were hoping for. I don't know what to say. Sorry.
