STEP 1. Open up \My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Logs\ your <computername>-config-log.txt

Name (driver): Intel® HD Graphics Family
Name (database): Intel® HD Graphics Family <<NOT FOUND IN DATABASE!>> - IF you have this message you need to fix your Video Cards.sgr file.
Vendor: Intel
Chipset: Vendor: 8086, Device: 0a16, Board: 397817aa, Chipset: 000b
STEP 2. Open up your Video Cards.sgr for editing. (Make a copy of it first)
ULTIMATE COLLECTION:
Open \Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Config\Video Cards.sgr
DVD:
Open \Program Files (x86)\EA\The Sims 2 - <your most current expansion pack>\TSData\Res\Config\Video Cards.sgr
Look for your Vendor - each vendor has a section that starts with their name and accceptable vendor ids.
# ID to video card mappings
# maps the vendor id to vendor name,
# maps the card id to card name

vendor "ATI" 0x1002 - This is the Vendor Name and Vendor ID. The Vendor ID will match the Vendor number in your config log.txt
card 0x6810 "AMD Radeon R9 200 Series" - This is the Device number and the Name (Driver) from the config-log.txt
card 0x3152 "Radeon X300 Mobility (M24)"
card 0x3E50 "Radeon X600/X550 Series"
card 0x3E70 "Radeon X600/X550 Series Secondary"
card 0x4136 "Radeon IGP 320"
When you have found your Vendor add the following line:
card 0x<your device id from the config-log.txt> "<Your Name (Driver) from your config-log.txt>"
Save your file.
Load your Game, and close it again.
Check your -config-log.txt - does it still have the message <<NOT FOUND IN DATABASE!>> ?
Yes - check what you've done, you haven't done it correctly.
No - Congratulations, it worked!
EXAMPLE ON HOW TO DO IT.
Notes:
The easiest and simplest way to get it right every time, is to copy and paste it from the config-log.txt.
Open up your config-log.txt and your Video Cards.sgr next to each other. Then it's easy to cut and paste.
